Ideas for a free society and a prosperous future.

OLF develops research, papers, and public policy proposals to advance the social, economic, and institutional development of the Dominican Republic and Hispanic America.

Purpose

Turning thought into public action.

OLF exists to produce rigorous ideas, develop practical proposals, and advance a development agenda grounded in individual freedom, private property, entrepreneurship, open markets, civic responsibility, and a smaller, simpler, and effective government focused on its essential functions.

About

People who turn ideas into proposals.

OLF brings together knowledge, professional experience, and public purpose to develop practical solutions to the challenges facing the Dominican Republic and Hispanic America.

Principles

More autonomy for people. Fewer barriers to progress.

Areas of work

Five areas, one shared vision.

Each area begins with a diagnosis, defines an objective, and becomes a set of proposals, research projects, and public policy papers.

Education

Build a new educational paradigm centered on useful learning, critical thinking, technology, character, citizenship, and real opportunities.

Diagnosis

The education system follows a model inherited from another century, while students, families, and employers live in a digital, changing, and global reality.

Strategic contribution

Prepare people to participate, produce, build enterprises, and adapt throughout their lives.

Paper in development

Policy brief: Education for a new generation

Initial proposals
  • Redesign learning spaces with flexible, safe, and connected infrastructure.
  • Update the curriculum architecture around foundational skills, technology, reading, mathematics, finance, and problem-solving.
  • Strengthen teacher and facilitator development through modern methods and results-based evaluation.

Ideas lab

From concrete problems to practical proposals.

The lab turns each area of work into a concrete research project with a proposal and an expected impact.

Education

A new educational paradigm for a new generation.

The world has changed. Education cannot continue operating under a model designed for another century. OLF proposes rethinking the system from the ground up: learning spaces, content, methods, technology, and the preparation of those who teach.

  • Redesign education infrastructure for a digital, flexible generation connected to the productive economy.
  • Update curriculum architecture around critical thinking, reading, mathematics, technology, citizenship, finance, and life skills.
  • Prepare teachers and facilitators through new methods, digital tools, and results-based evaluation.
  • Advance technical education, partnerships with productive sectors, and learning pathways connected to real jobs.

OLF method

A shared path from knowledge to public policy.

All five areas follow the same method. Innovation, evidence, and freedom guide the process from diagnosis through the evaluation of results.

  1. Identify public problems through evidence.
  2. Research their causes and consequences.
  3. Design viable and measurable proposals.
  4. Test solutions with citizens, experts, and relevant sectors.
  5. Publish, advance, and evaluate results.
